Schnell Jade Green Penselpen fountain pen/pencil combination desk pen. Schnells rise to fame was their popular airplane clip (propeller front, wings and raised tail end), it was reported that Parker attempted to purchase the clip design and that Julius Schnell, the inventor of the clip, turned them down. The clip was designed days after Charles Lindberghs transatlantic flight and capitalized on the insatiable appetite for all things airplane. Schnell also was a great self-promoter and took credit for starting the pen/pencil combination craze of the late 1920s-1930s where nearly all manufacturers made at least one pen/pencil combination. They are uncommon today and prized by collectors, in this catalog we have a small collection of Schnell items in different sizes and colours. This jade green desk pen in 2 size is possibly more uncommon than the pocket combos, pencil on the tapered end of the desk pen to create this desk pen combo with Schnells Penselpen fine 14 K nib. Length 7â€, filling mechanism slide lever fill. Overall excellent condition with minor discolouration to rubber taper.

A Chinese pale celadon jade and plate mounted hand mirror, mid to late Qing dynasty, the plated oval mirror back cast in relief with the eight Buddhistic emblems and inset with hardstone cabochons, the central oval jade panel carved in relief with Buddha's hand citron and scrolling leafy stems, the jade belthook handle of typical serpentine form, carved and pierced with a chilong and dragon head terminal, length 23.5cm.
