AN ANTIQUE 7MM CENTREFIRE WALKING STICK SHOTGUN IN WORKING ORDER, its handle is made from a deer's antler and the barrel is painted brown with its upper section representing a bamboo cane, it comes with its original tampon, unlike the standard walking stick shotgun this differs in how it operates, pulling the top section of the cane backwards causes it to twist revealing the breech, allowing entry of a cartridge and when twisted back to the closed position it remains uncocked, when the user decided to use it, the small round button visible on the top face of it handle was pulled out, affording both a half and full cock position, once in the full cock position its firing pin was released by the small bolt situated in the slot in the handle when closed, this is defined as an antique under the Antique Arms Regulations of 2021 and free from licensing restrictions whilst retained as an ornament or curio.

They saw action in Mammetz Wood on the Somme and in the third battles of Ypres. Following reoganisation of the army in 1918 the 10th Welsh were disbanded in France.

Y A CARVED EBONY AND STEEL MOUNTED GARDEN SPADE 19TH CENTURY AND LATER The floral carved Victorian ebony handle mounted with modern shaft and blade 96cm long Together with a rosewood walking or dandy stick Silver collar hallmarked for London 1920, turned calamander pommel, 90.5cm long The spade's carved handle and shaft design bears very close comparison with a silver mounted ebony shovel dating from 1888/1889 by Frederick Elkington in The Royal Collection (RCIN 50183). It also marks the first collaboration between the author and illustrator, whose partnership would later go on to create The Gruffalo, Stick Man, Zog and Room on the Broom amongst others.
