Nine Chinese jade carvings, all probably 20th century, including a praying mantis, a disc carved with three chilong, a smaller pale celadon disc with two chilong, a similar carving of rounded, rectangular form, two dragon pendants, a carving of a chilong and a bat on a lotus leaf; and two archaic style axe head pendants, the largest 7.2cm. long. (9)
Two large Chinese jade bi-discs, of archaic form, late 20th century, one in celadon jade with extensive, heavy calcification, carved with two dragons and leafy scrolls, 9¼in. (23.25cm.) long; the other in ochre and dark russet mottle jade, carved in bas relief with a band of archaic dragons around an inner band of ruyi decoration, 6in. (15.2cm.) diameter. (2) Both in good condition. The celadon disc has one tiny chip to the edge.
A Chinese bronze and calcified jade Northern Wei figure of Guanyin, probably 20th century, with heavy verdigris patination, Guanyin standing in front of a lotus petal shaped mandorla, with a border of flames, inscription verso, the four legged base mounted atop a mottled, pale celadon jade square tapered base, carved with masks and with dragon handles, 8½in. (21.5cm.) high. Two small chips to corners of the jade base. The jade and base of the bronze with some heavily encrusted deposits, which may be artificial aging. A small fracture to one of the legs of the stand on the bronze.
A Chinese Zhou style carved jade figure of a rabbit, in mottled grey and pale biscuit jade, the crouching rabbit with its ears flattened to its back, a line of reeded fur along its back, carved with ruyi and other symbols, 5 3/8in. (13.5cm.) long; together with an archaistic mythical bird, in stained pale celadon jade, 3in. (7.6cm.) high, 20th century. (2) Both in good condition, with no damage to the jade.
A large Chinese carved jade of a chilong consuming a ruyi fungi, 20th century, in mottled celadon, grey, russet and caramel jade, 7¼in. (18.5cm.) long; together with a smaller jade of two long bodied dragons with a pearl on a lotus leaf, 20th century, in pale grey, dark grey and russet jade, 6.2cm. long. (2)
A Chinese jade dragon form pendant, Han Dynasty style, carved in the form of a long bodied dragon, with comma spirals decorated to the closely curled S-shaped body, terminating in a short tail with a curled tip, the celadon jade with extensive opaque white inclusions and calcification, 15cm. long.
A Chinese champleve enamel and gilt metal oval box, probably 19th / early 20th century, the lid with a pierced mutton fat jade mount, with flowers and shou symbol, within a border of enamel flowers, two bats and leafy scrolls, the sides with Greek key and diaper decoration, 3 1/8 x 2¾in. (7.9 x 7cm.), 1 3/8in. (3.5cm.) high.. * Engrained dirt throughout and gilt worn/dulled. No damage to jade or enamel. Gilt to base has some wear and an old sticker mark. Staining to base of interior.
A Chinese jade mountain carving, probably Qing Dynasty, 18th century, in celadon jade with white mottled inclusions, depicting a mountain range with a deer beneath the boughs of a fir tree to one side, its head turned upwards, a ruyi fungi growing to the other, on a hardwood stand carved with gnarled fir branches and roots, 4 1/8 x 2in. high, the stand 4 5/8 x 1in. high. (2). * Very old chip to top edge of the mountain at the left hand side. No other damage or faults. The stand has some fading to the front and is very dusty, but no other faults.

An early 20th Century Dore Crystal five light starburst lamp in the Maison Bagues style set on a giltwood socle base 43 cm high x 59 cm wide max together with a circular starburst gilt metal medallion with central jade style bead 42.5 cm diameter, a pair of 19th Century gilt metal starburst style convex mirrored wall medallions with cabouchon cut blue paste decoration 30 cm square and a blue clear red and green paste set coronet 10 cm diameter x 6.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS There is now an image of the larger lamp. Western Jin Dynasty, 265-317 A.D. A ceramic standing horse with the hindlegs slightly apart and bent, tail erect, integrally modelled saddle with saddlecloth, bridle ornaments on muzzle and forelock; supplied with a made-to-measure stone base. For a similar example see a sculpture from the Birmingham Museum of Art, accession no.1979.321; cf. Hajeck et al., A Book of Chinese Art, four thousand years of sculpture, painting, bronze, jade, lacquer and porcelain, Spring Books, 1966, item 28, for type. 4.7 kg total, 27 cm including stand (10 5/8 in.). Acquired 1980-1990s. Ex West Country collection. Property of a Bristol, UK, gentleman. The Western Jin pottery horses tend to be modelled on the stocky and short-legged Mongolian breed, unlike their more graceful Han Dynasty predecessors. This type of horse was formerly attributed to the Han period; developments within the field of archaeology have since re-attributed them to the Six Dynasties era (3rd-6th century A.D.)
