Harry Lauder Interest; from the Estate of George F. Arigho; Harry Lauder`s `Roaming in the Gloaming Walking Stick`, the twisted briar with white metal collar, inscribed: `Presented to My Old Friend G.F. Arigho from Sir Harry Lauder September 1938-The original stick used by me in Roaming in the Gloaming` , 94cm long; George Arigho was a life-long friend of Sir Harry Lauder and attended every show the artist performed in Dublin. Lauder made frequent visits to the Arigho`s family home at `Albert House` in Ballsbridge, Dublin, where they would reminisce, swap yarns and ideas for songs and lyrics. Arigho`s son Jack was a famous rugby player in the 1930s and was capped 16 times for Ireland. This Lot sells together with a framed portrait photograph of Sir Harry, inscribed in his own hand: `To my friend George Arigho, always sincerely as ever, Harry Lauder March 1935`, 31 x 24cm; Also a letter on Lauder Ha notepaper from Arigho to a relative mentioning `...I got a great stick from Harry..All the Lauders are very nice charming people...`
