An Australian Aboriginal wooden hunting stick, aka killing stick, the curved heavy object with grooved carving to one side and flat underside, these vicious objects were thrown horizontally at a target, sometimes up to 200m (650ft), much like a skipping stone on the water surface they could bounce off the ground to reach and break the prey's legs, slowing or stopping it, approx. 73cm long.

CONDITION REPORT: Postage to the Netherlands would cost approx. £37 + VAT but please ask for confirmation if required after the auction. Canes are from around late 19th/early 20th century.
Lot 1240
A 1940s oak hall stand with central box seat and hinged lid flanked by two umbrella/stick stands, with swing bevelled mirror and set of hooks (two missing), width 86cm, height 177cm. CONDITION REPORT: Only 4 hooks are present (originally 6), and one of the 4 is detached. Also there are some minor losses to the decoration above the seat, general wear commensurate with age.
