A rare 18th Century brass mounted horse measuring stick, the brass label inscribed "Wogdon. Gun Maker Cockspur Street Charing Cross London", 230 cm long CONDITION REPORTS The vertical measure is one piece, has a metal foot plate and the base is water stained and has some cracking. There are knocks and cracks all over particulaly around the knots of wood. There is a chunk missing on the horizontal section where it meets the vertical measure. There is a chunk missing from the top of the horizontal section. The screw to the centre appears to be a replacement. The plumb line is missing. There are a couple of brass nails missing and some screws appear to be replacements. There are scuffs, knocks, scratches all over and general wear and tear conducive with age and use. A large chip to the top of the horizontal section. See images for more details
