Prior to bidding, please contact your shipper or talk to our specialists for more information. Condition Report: There are chips to edges of cornice, the supports for finials are reattached with one still loose. There is a piece of missing moulding below the dial. The stem with lifting and warping to veneer to top right and areas of repair visible under UV light along the length of the right side, including to base, and there is some glue residue near top of stem. Minor chips to moulding and minor lifting to veneer on lower left of stem. Minor splits to veneer of central band at base of stem. Some minor chips to reservoir cover. The panels to reverse are later replacement as are the screws. Some chips to top of reverse. The dial has no silvering and has tarnishing and surface scratches and minor dent to top left. Minor nibble visible to glass tube near centre. A small gap to mercury near centre. The brass suspension loop, finials, terminal and pierced foliate mount to centre of the stem are later replacements. Width of the top approx. 19.8cm, width of the stem approx. 9.8cm.

Loss enamel is seen to the cap and collar of the jockey. All over residue seen to the carved face, would benefit from a clean. No major apparent chips, cracks or areas of loss to the face. Mount to red stone upon cap is a little low, similarly with diamond set collar. Makers mark is indistinct to the stick pin. Eagle mark is clear. Visible join to the backing and head of the stick pin. General scuffs and blemishes to reverse and stick, commensurate with age and use.

Evidence of solder and dents to the reverse of the head. Metal is unmarked. Residue seen to the edges of the portrait, possibly leading into interior of portrait as well. Would benefit from a clean. Scratches seen to glass of stick pin. Scratches and general scuffs and blemishes seen throughout stick pin, commensurate with age and use.

A 19th century turquoise set bird stick pin, the eagle designed head set throughout with cabochon turquoise stones and red stone set eyes, perched upon yellow metal ‘branch’ and stick pin, head 3cm long, overall length 9.5cm long, 6gms, within associated fitted case Condition report:  Possibly one stone is missing from the interior of the tail (branch appears to be covering this, so maybe intentional) All turquoise stones are varied in colour, and show discolouration. Surface blemishes and scuffs seen to some turquoise cabochons, seen with x10 loupe. Both red stones are present to the eyes, and diamond chips to nostrils. General scuffs, and blemishes seen throughout, commensurate with age and use. Stick pin would benefit from a clean.

Lot 355

An early 20th century diamond stick pin, the initial ‘B’ head set with mixed rose cut diamonds within white metal milgrain setting edge with yellow metal reverse and stick pin, head 1cm long, overall length 6.5cm, 1gms Condition report:  Diamonds are all present, some may be later replacement as it appears some are set lower into the setting edge. There are some nibbles present to some of the diamonds.Inclusions are also seen under x10 loupe. Mount shows some general scuffs, blemishes and scratches, commensurate with being used. Milgrain setting edge is low in some areas. Possible area of repair seen to the top of the stick pen, to the reverse.
