A 19th century European folding fan with pierced carved and gilt heightened guards with floral motifs, with matching shaped sticks and shaped metal loop, the leaf of battenberg type tape lace forming cartouches filled with hand painted silk decorated with birds, guard length 21.5cm, width approx 38cm. CONDITION REPORT: The lace appears to be intact although discoloured in places. The painted silk is a little split on the folds. Three of the slips have been crudely reinforced and one stick is broken lower down but the pieces are present.
