An English late 19th century fontange or balloon shaped quizzing fan with gilt heightened pierced bone guards and matching sticks forming a cornucopia to the centre, the silk leaf decorated with gilt sequins and spangles, the cutout gauze shapes forming a basket of flowers and butterflies, guard length 16cm, width approx 24cm. CONDITION REPORT: The last stick at the back is broken, there is a crude repair but it is loose from the fan. The fan has come away from the sticks with some discolouration, otherwise in good condition.
