Daniel O'Connell's Swagger Stick [O'Connell (Daniel)] A unique personal artefact belonging to the Liberator, a shaped bone handled and ebonised Swagger Stick, the handle with circular inset inscribed 'O'Connell, M.P.' (Daniel O'Connell, member of Parliament), and part of the ebonised stick (damaged with loss), it is recorded that the stick broke during his fiery speech in Ballinkillen in Co. Carlow in 1841, during elections. O'Connell was stationed in Borris during this time, and the stick was given as a memento to the Hogan Family, as an Artefact, w.a.f. (1) Provenance: Daniel O'Connell to the Hogan Family, Borris by direct descent.

A novelty mid 20th century bakelite / celluloid model of a classic car, pearlized yellow colourway with black wheel arches, amber effect wheels, having a pull out drawer to reverse opening to show internal powder set consisting of powder puff, eye shadow holder and lip stick holder, (room for another draw underneath but missing), whole car approx. 19.7cm long x 13.2cm wide. Along with a novelty pearlized bakelite / celluloid model of an airplane with pilots head in cockpit, also hinged to show a novelty powder puff with pilots head to top, plane approx. 20cm long x 22.5 wing to wing. (2) Further details: plane - broken propeller and tail wing with old glue to edges (but pieces are with lot). Car - broken area to left side (old glue visible) above wheel but piece present, missing drawer to reverse. Some surface scratching and wear to both pieces. Other minor loss etc.

A RARE 4mm PINFIRE DAGGER-REVOLVER IN A WALKING-STICK MOUNT, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number, French or Belgian probably circa 1870, with blued and fluted 1 7/8in. hand-revolved six-shot barrel-group, the central axis mounted with a square-section dagger spike partially blued with flambé tongues extending towards the tip, circular action body etched with scrolled panels and with carved flush-fitting blued hammer and trigger, moulded pin-guard etched with a running band, the walnut handle carved as a stylised horse head and saddle, white metal collars to the handle and the throat of the hollow wooden stick and brass ferrule to tip.
