After Meissen Romantic Figure Group showing a young couple in 18thC dress, in a countryside setting, seated as if in a 'love seat', facing in opposite directions but still gazing at each other; the gentleman has gathered flowers with which he is adorning the lady, the rest being carried in his hat; on the floor rest a set of bagpipes and a walking stick; 7.75 inches high; underglaze blue crossed 'swords' with blue line across plus incised 866 QH to underside (losses to flowers and ribbon, chips to base edge)
A pair of Chinese incense stick holders, 19th century, modelled as recumbent shi-shi, the eyes and fur picked out in black and with gilt ears and teeth. 8 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: One incense holder has been fully restored. Around the head and front paws there are repaired cracks running down its spine. This looks like it has been dropped from a height and broken in half. The figure has been raised on 4 small pads one of which is missing. The other incense holder appears to be in good physical order. The gilding may have been retouched however I would think this would have been done many decades ago. Similar to its partner a rear pad is missing (this is not detrimental to the actual item.) There is a blemish on its nostril but this was done at manufacturer.
