A diamond and red cabouchon set paper knife with nephrite (jade) blade, green enamel handle with chased silver owl`s head bearing the mark and in the style of Faberge, impressed 88 and HW, the green enamel handle mounted with four diamond and cabouchon set double head eagle and crown crests with draped swags below, two diamond set collars at either end, the owl`s head tilted to one side, the jade blade with circular laurel wreath to front and reverse set with single cabouchon in original silk and velvet lined pale wooden case with metal clasp (9 inches overall).
A Qianlong Period (1736 - 1795) white jade brush washer carved in the form of a compressed peach borne on a bough with clusters of leaves, detailed with a bat in flight to the upper shoulder, measures 8 cm wide by 6.5 across by 3.8 ccmtall. Provenance - Formerly the property of Diana Warswick. Provenance - The current owner acquired this lot following the purchase of the home and estate contents of the late Albert E and Diana Warswick. Albert E. Warswick had been responsible for the building of the rail and tram networks across the Argentines during the early 20th century and was well connected within London society. The couple left London at the beginning of World War II and relocated to Nassau in the Bahamas taking their entire collection of Fine Art & Antiques with them to re-create their London home. Close friends of The Duke & Duchess of Windsor the couple lived out their lives in the Bahamas with Albert passing away before Diana who died in 1960. The Brush pot and following snuff bottle formed just part of an extensive collection of Art, Furniture, Silver and effects collated over the early 20th century.
A Qianlong Period (1736 - 1795) white jade snuff bottle of footed compressed ovoid form with rounded shoulder and flared collar neck with small lion masks to the shoulder holding rings. The body carved to each face in shallow relief with a bat flying below a fruiting peach tree, height 5.4 cm, later association spoon and stopper. Provenance - As former lot. ILLUSTRATED
A 19th Century Chinese jade bottle - A pale green jade vase of slender high shouldered form with a compressed ovoid body set with a small domed cover with bird finial, the two united by a carved jade chain link. The body further detailed with open scroll handles with ring loops and a pair of ducks resting to water lilies to the side, the whole raised to a carved hardwood stand, possibly 18th or early 19th century, height 22.5 cm. ILLUSTRATED
