A George III Mahogany Stick Barometer, signed Dollond, London, circa 1800, exposed mercury tube with a single vernier scale signed, turned cistern cover, 101cm high see illustration 11.10.19 Case is slightly faded in parts, later brass finial, dial needs re-silvering, mercury tube with air bubbles, case with small scratches and small dents in parts, cistern cover with one small crack.
An Anglo Chinese ebony and ivory mounted swagger stick, late 19th/early 20th century, with wide silver collar decorated in repoussé with a dragon amongst cloud scrolls, unmarked, 60cm. length; also a Chinese export silver matchbox cover, pierced with a dragon and flowering peony, (a.f), 24.5gms, and a Chinese silver paper knife pierced with characters, stamped `Sterling' and `HK', 21cm. length, 41.9 gms., (3).

A George III gilt brass-mounted mahogany stick barometerBy Adams, LondonWith a swan-neck pediment above a silvered scale with vernier enclosed by a hinged door, above a silvered thermometer scale with brass hinged door, with turned cistern cover110cm high The Adams' business, established circa 1750 at Tycho Brahe's Head in Fleet Street, continued until 1826, on the death of George Adams' grandson, Dudley. The family were continual Royal Appointment Mathematical Instrument makers to George III.
A Pair of Queen Anne Silver Candlesticks, by William Denny, London, 1702, each on stepped square base with canted corners, with baluster stem and spool-shaped socket, engraved with a crest, further prick-engraved underneath with initials 'A' over 'TI', 17cm high, 21oz 16dwt (2) Provenance: Bonhams, 25 February 2015, lot 177, where acquired by the present owner. . One candlestick marked with maker's mark and date letter underneath, the other fully marked underneath. Each further marked on socket with lion's head erased. The marks underneath are clear. The marks on the sockets show wear. There is overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The engraved crests are perhaps later. There is some bruising to the stem of one stick at the base. There has possibly been a repair in this area. There are some small bruises to the top of the sockets.

A MAHOGANY CASED ENAMELLED BRASS STICK BAROMETER and thermometer by Negretti & Zambra of London, serial no. M/6229. 96cm high approx. The three sided glazed case 116cm x 23cm approx. (B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Appearing in good original condition. Rather dusty and grubby with wear to the case particularly to the angles. No obvious damage or losses apart from some damage to the glass sight tube which is cracked.
