A white jade openwork plaque, mounted as a table screen; the pierced jade carved with two boys and auspicious objects, held in a pierced hardwood frame, the fretwork with surmounted by two chilong dragon heads and with hardwood display stand, 8in. (22.75cm.) high x 6.25in. (16cm.) wide (jade is 2 3/4in. / 7cm. square)
A fine white jade sliced peach form pendant, late Qianlong period (or perhaps early Jiaqing), carved with a bat holding a buddhistic lozenge in its mouth and lingzhi fungus, the verso carved with free flowing calligraphy and signed Zhi Gang, 1 5/8in. (4cms). NB: The calligraphy translates as "Ru nan shan zhi shou"-"As long lived as the mountain of Nan".
A large green/brown pendant overlaid with white metal in a cross design and depicting a central dragon motif with four butterflies and dragon suspender, also a triple leaf brooch in an amber coloured opaque resin. Condition: Both items are in generally fair condition. There are slight scratches and areas of dirt to the jade piece, the overlaid detail is discoloured and tarnished in places, lead solder id also possibly visible. The suspender section appears broken in places. The other brooch is in better condition, there are just minor scratches in places.
A small quantity of costume jewellery, to include a heart shape nephrite jade pendant on a belcher link chain, a mother of pearl cross pendant, a carved mother of pearl brooch, a cameo pendant, seven brooches of various design, a carved ivory brooch with painted Oriental scene and two plastic panels. Some items AF. Condition: Due to the large quantity of items in this lot we are unable to provide a condition report.
A cased Christening set (deficient of the spoon) with silver blade and fork and ribbed ivory handles, engraved monogram to the blade and fork mount. Hallmarks are very rubbed and near indistinguishable. Together with a cased set of nephrite jade handle teaspoons, three have carved terminals and gilt bowls. All stamped to the reverse of the bowl with sterling silver and a rubbed makers` mark. Also a silver handled knife and an ivory handle toasting fork, both hallmarked John Sanderson, Sheffield 1911. Condition:
A late 19th to early 20th century carved jade pendant, the large oval pendant depicting in high relief a phoenix, deer and bamboo symbolising fortune. Possibly dyed. Length 6cms. Weight 39.5gms. Condition: The jade pendant is in good condition, with a bright lustre. The carving is well defined with clear detail.
Two brooches, to include a jade brooch, the central oval jade cabochon surrounded by an openwork foliate design border and a jade set floral design cluster brooch (AF/Stamped 14k). Jade possibly dyed. Condition: The jade cluster brooch is in poor condition and has broken along the centre, there are scratches and areas of tarnishing to all of the metal with sections broken. One pear shape jade cabochon is missing. The other brooch is in good condition, there are slight scratches and areas of discolouration to the outer mount, the pin is metal and the jade is in good condition.
Two carved jade items, to include a pendant with suspended carved jade depicting a bunch of grapes and an openwork design ring depicting an exotic bird within a claw setting. Pendant stamped 18KGP Condition: Both items are in overall good condition. The jade in the ring is loose and would need to be secured, there are scratches to the jade and the ring shank is bent. The pendant is fine, with just slight abrasion in places.
Misc. costume jewellery, comprising crystal beads, diamante set bracelets & necklets, a couple of small stones missing, nephrite jade disc approx. 54mm, with Chinese symbols in relief, pairs of Venetian glass earrings, enamelled butterfly brooch & ladies` Gucci wristwatch, quartz movement, "working" order (lot)
