A rare early 19th century French silver open face quarter-repeating pocket watch with concealed erotic automaton, circa 1820, French movement with pierced bridge cock, polished steel end-piece, and silvered regulation dial, repeating the hours and quarters on gongs, the four-piece case with plunge pendant for repeat, engine-turned covers and a cuvette with a small hinged cover concealing an erotic automaton depicting a copulating couple, white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals, key-wine aperture and original blued-steel baluster and lozenge hands, 5.75cm diameter (2.25 in), (a crack to the dial and a later perspex 'glass')
