GROUP OF FRENCH TIN GLAZED FAIENCE CHINOISERIE DECORATED PLATES, each painted with figures within gardens with flower sprays to the borders. Painted monogram: V.P. to the reverse, probably by Veuve Perrin, Marseilles, c. 1748-'93. 24cm diameter (7) 21cm diameter (2) CONDITION REPORT: Frits and chips generally to the glazes as expected, two larger plates have been badly broken and repaired, and two have significant hair cracks, one of the smaller plates has a significant hair crack.
A CONTINENTAL ENAMEL BOX, 18TH CENTURY, the quatrefoil shaped box painted with figures, boat and the sea, within a gilded rim border, the sides painted with sprigs of foliage within gilded boxes, bears underglaze blue VP mark of Veuve Perrin, 9cm by 7cm; together with ANOTHER ENAMEL BOX, painted with a courting couple in 18th Century dress, painted LILLE 1767 mark, 9.5cm by 7.5cm. A French 18th /19th century faience custard cup by Veuve Perrin, of compressed ovoid form, domed lid with berry finial and floral decoration seated upon a tin glazed body, decorated with a hand painted country scene of a hand drawn dennet between two single floral stems, 'C' scroll brown mottled handle, on raised circular foot, the V.P. mark painted to base, 3½in. (8.9cm.) high, 3in. (7.6cm.) diameter. Condition: Small chip (10 x 3mm.) below rim of cover - tip of chip visible from upper side. Some glaze flaking to underside of rim of cover, and glaze chip to finial. Some glaze wear to rim of cup. Underside of foot with old 10mm chip and glaze to footrim diminished with age and use.
