Lot 163

A Tanglewood electric guitar, twin Entwistle HV58 pick ups, Bigsby patent bridge, Serial No. "L09102045", 101 cm long, housed in an Ashton hard case CONDITION REPORTS Tanglewood guitar - Whilst basically sound, there are throughout, signs of wear and tear conducive with some age and use. The brass work is in need of a good clean. The pick ups have wear. The lower pick up with the name and number worn and particularly to the higher side, wear down to the metal. The higher pick up with wear bottom right corner. The Phillips screws to the pick ups are variously rusty. The neck appears in good condition. The top screw very rusty. Cable socket with spotting and rusting. Keys with green oxidisation / corosion and dirt and some wear to the ends. Not known if the guitar is in working order at this stage. We hope this will be established on the morning of the sale. There is no visible reason why not as far as we can see. The case is in basically good condition throughout but with signs of wear and tear conducive with some age and use. Whilst the pick ups appear to work, the volume / tone controls appear to be fairly ineffective, not making much difference to the sound and the lower front control is fixed i.e. does not turn at all but when played through an amp, the guitar does appear, on the face of it, work - therefore suggest requires attention.
