SUPERMAN: THE MOVIEOne Sheet & British Quad (27" x 41" & 30" x 40")Very Fine Folded; Artwork by Bob Peak (One-Sheet) Warner Bros., 1978The one sheet has very faint tanning to the outer border edge and a small surface scuff in the lower left black background. The quad had mild scattered crimping and fold and edge wear including soft corners and tiny tears. In 1978, the world truly believed a man could fly after seeing this instant classic directed by Richard Donner and starring Christopher Reeve as the Man of Steel. With a cast that also included Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman, Margot Kidder, Ned Beatty, Glenn Ford, and Jackie Cooper, as well as a screenplay by Mario Puzo and a score by John Williams, no expense was spared in bringing this iconic character to life. Indeed, it was the most expensive film ever made at the time of its release, with a budget of $55 million, and set the stage for three sequels. Inducted into the National Film Registry in 2017, Superman is widely considered to be one of the finest superhero movies ever made. This lot will be auctioned on Friday, April 19th.
