MANSON CHARLES: (1934- ) American Cult Leader of the Manson Family during the 1960s. Manson's followers notoriously committed a number of murders and in 1971 Charles Manson was found guilty of conspiracy to commit the murders of seven people, most notably the actress Sharon Tate. A curious A.N.S., Charles Milles Manson, to the verso of a colour postcard featuring an image of a postage stamp commemorating the Star Wars character C3PO, Corcoran, California, n.d. (2009), to Denise Noe. Manson writes, in full, 'Look out for Irish - Look out for Kenny Irish'. Beneath the note, Manson has drawn a simple ink sketch of a stick man standing alongside what may be interpreted as a large sun. Manson has also added crosses (+) to the inside of each of the letters O in his note and drawn various lines around the text, his signature and the address. Further signed ('C Manson B33920') in the return address. VGManson's correspondent is Denise Noe of Atlanta who published the article The Manson Myth for Crime Magazine in 2004. In a further piece entitled My Friendship with Charles Manson for the same magazine in 2010, Noe refers to Manson having made one very close friend named Kenny, who was imprisoned for non-violent drug offences, and is presumably the same individual referred to in the present note.
