A mixed lot of nine copper-alloy Roman coins, mostly 4th century, but with a smattering of earlier material. Represented in this lot, a sestertius of Domitian or Nerva (1), a sestertius of Hadrian (1), a radiate of Gallienus (1), nummi of Constantine I (1), Constantine II as Caesar (2), the House of Constantine (1) and the House of Valentinian (2). Various reverse types. About Fair to Nearly Very Fine.Provenance: from the collection of a metal detectorist.
A mixed lot of forty-nine copper-alloy Roman coins. Most pieces Constantinian, though there is also a smattering of later 3rd century material. Earlier coins represented by a Sestertius struck for either Trajan or Hadrian, and a largely illegible 1st/2nd century As. Most Poor to Fair.Provenance: from the collection of a metal detectorist.
A copper-alloy sestertius of Trajan (AD 98-117) dating to c. AD 114-117. Obverse: laureate and draped bust right, IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC PM TR P CO[S VI PP]. Reverse: SENATV[S] POPVLV[SQV]E ROMANVS S-C, Felicitas standing left holding caduceus and cornucopia. Mint of Rome. RIC 672. Very Fine, pleasing mottled green patina. Weight: 27.98g. Provenance: from the collection of an ex metal detectorist, found Oxfordshire/Berkshire/Hampshire in the 1980s or 1990s.
Forty-eight copper-alloy Roman coins.Mostly later 4th century Valentinianic with a fair amount of Constantinian material/contemporary copies of the latter. Earlier material is represented by a rather corroded As of Nero and a very worn Sestertius, possibly Trajan. All Poor to Fair. Provenance: from the collection of a metal detectorist.
A copper-alloy sestertius struck for Marcus Aurelius as Augustus (AD 161-180) dating to c. AD 168-169. Reverse: FORT RED TR POT XX III IMP V COS III S-C, Fortuna seated left holding rudder and cornucopia. Mint of Rome. RIC vol. III, p. 290, no. 962. Nearly Very Fine, with a slightly coppery patina. Diameter: 31.9mm. Weight: 25.95g.Provenance: found Thatcham, Berkshire, 2012. Recorded on the PAS as BH-A7E374.

Roman Bronze Sestertius, Domitian, 51 AD - 96 AD, Emperor from 81 AD. Last of The Flavian Emperors. OBV: IMPCAESDOMITAVGGERM COSXII CENSPERTPP. Rev: SC Domitian STG. Holding thunderbolt and spear, crowned by Victory who stands l., behind him holding palm. In fair condition, large module, nice portrait, interesting reverse.

Rev: SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI SC in ex., Victory standing l., holding palm and erecting trophy of arms and armour, shields at base. In near very fine condition, toned with a pleasing portrait, interesting reverse.
Roman Sestertius, Nero, 37-68 AD, Emperor from 54 AD Rev: Pace P R Terra Mario Pace P R Terra Mario Parta Ianvm Clvsit SC, The Twin Janus (Ianus Geminus) showing closed double doors and one side wall (on left) with long latticed window. In fine condition, toned, nice example of an early coin, large heavy flan.
