Unusual early 20th Century art pottery vase of ovoid form and particularly light construction, incised signature beneath 'M. A Rookwood Pottery Grace Young Native American Indian vase, with impressed marks to base. Height 22 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The vase is in extremely good condition with no significant damage, no repairs and no restoration. The only crazing that is visible is under a very bright light. In natural light the crazing is barely visible. There are some minor surface scratches to the rear of the vase but really the condition is first class.

A Rookwood Pottery, Iris glaze vase by Albert Robert Valentien, circa 1900, with thistles on a graduated green to yellow pastel ground, incised potters signature 'A R Valentien' and Rookwood mark, 907 D, 27cm high Note: Albert Valentien joined the American Arts and Crafts pottery of Rookwood in 1881 becoming one of the firm's top decorators. He left in 1905 to pursue a career in fine art.
