§ Alberto Giacometti (1901-1966) Annettelithograph 25 x 18.5cmThere are no visible signs of a signature. The paper has yellowed slightly with some faint acid burning found close to the mount. The paper has some undulations beneath the mount. This picture has not been examined outside the frame.The photo included showing the back of the frame was incorrect, this has now been revised. There is no label on the back of the frame. There is a written inscription stating it is a lithograph by Giacometti
Giovanni Battista Salvi SASSOFERRATO (After)(1609-1685). The Madonna in sorrow,Oil on canvas, 45X35cm in an ebonised and gilt frame. We are uncertain of the date, but probably early-mid 19th century. We have not examined the picture out of the frame and glazing, there is evidence of some repair and overpaint, along with craquelure and a little paint loss near the edge. The stretcher appears to have been adapted. The total measurement including the frame is 53.5X43.5cm.

A 13cm tall, hobnail cut crystal bud vase, hallmarked Birmingham 1905 and a small 7.5cm tall fluted bud vase, hallmarked Birmingham 1989. Also a 22.0 x 17.0cm silver plated picture frame, containing a photograph of Queen Mary.

A contemporary oil painting by Scottish Artist Hazel McLean, contained within a black frame and under glass. May include other mixed media. Picture is of a seated person with paintings to background of two additional people / faces looking downwards / forward. McLean's works are two-fold: firstly she explores the human condition and form through various mediums and materials, expressing all aspects of emotions and sexuality; secondly she expresses her intense relationship with the earth and all it's living organisms through abstract-expressionism, sculpting mixed-media and oils with her hands, nails, snagged sheep's wool, wood, rags and occasionally a brush. The paint surface shows no obvious damage or foxing, however the paper shows a slight ripple across the surface most visible at the edges of the mount. The colours appear reasonably bright and strong, but are likely to have faded somewhat over time. The underside of the glass shows some kind of watermarks, and would benefit from cleaning. The frame appears to be structurally sound, but shows wear to the gilt finish, some small dents, and the odd small loss to the moulded detail.

The paint surface shows no obvious signs of damage or restoration. The colours appear strong and bright, but may have faded somewhat over time. There are some small gold coloured flecks near the mount in the lower left quadrant (possibly residue from the mount itself). The frame is structurally sound, but shows evidence of overpainting, the odd small chip to the moulded edges and surface wear throughout.
An oval silk work embroidered portrait, 19th century, depicting a young lady in a white silk dress standing in a landscape, in verre eglomise frame, the embroidery 24cm x 18.5cm, the frame 34cm x 29cm overall, with an oval late 19th century silk work embroidered study of a seated lady crocheting, inscribed 'Taken November 1885' and 'J.K.M November 8th 1895' verso, in ornate oval glazed frame, 23cm x 17.5cm (2) (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The portrait of a standing lady shows no obvious damage to the embroidered silk work or background silk fabric. The verre eglomise mount shows some small areas of deterioration to the black finish around the edges. The lower left edge of the picture sits approximately 3mm above the mount.The portrait of the seated lady shows several areas of damage to the background fabric, the largest approximately 4cm x 1cm in the centre of the image.

AN ITALIAN CARVED GILTWOOD PICTURE FRAME WALL MIRROR 17TH CENTURY AND LATER The Baroque frame with central cherub's mask 46cm high, 57cm wideProvenance: Bonhams, Fine Frames, 5th March 2008, Lot 86 Condition Report: The frame is covered in a very dark painted glaze, perhaps covering an oxidised silvered layer - it is very hard to discern the quality of the gilding (or silvering) below what apper to be layers of dirt, bronze powder paint and over other painting. The features of the cherub in the centre are as a result of layers of paint, now quite hard to discern. However, the carved frame is good quality and may in fact benefit from some gentle cleaning to reveal the gilded (or silvered) layer. The mirror plate is later (the only obviously later element).
