dating: 1814 provenance: Anghiari, Flat plate with swallowtailed edge, featuring a fine relieved mask at the tang. Tha hammer carved at the front, with grotesques on the throw and racemes on the jaws. The clamp screw finely pierced with leaves. Remains of a face at the base. The external spring carved with a snake, the pan with a mask and another fine grotesque face in-relief at the back of the batterie. Some areas of the surface with visible pitting. Remains of signature at the back: probably '...ANI' o '...INI' and the clearly-visible writing 'ANGHIARI' with year '1814'. The mechanisms marked 'N. 24'. A very noteworthy and high-quality work. length plate 14,6 cm.
dating: about 1660 provenance: Naples, Flat plate, the tang decorated with a fine grotesque mask in high-relief. The plate at the base of hammer carved with spirals. The hammer's throw sculpted as a monkey. Pitting. The tw external sides of the double spring richly decorated in bas-relief with racemes on a granulated background, the spring o the batterie decorated en suite, both carved with an anthropomorphic figure. All the other elements equally carved with various grotesque figures and racemes. The back of the batterie with decorations. Locks of this kind can be found in various private and museum collections; as an example, see a series at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum (in 'Museo Poldi Pezzoli, Armeria II; pagg. 700-702, with pictures, all dated from 1660 to 1670). length plate 22 cm.
dating: 1875-1890 provenance: Swiss, Rifled, round 10,4 mm cal. barrel (clean bore, clearly visible grooves), with foresight, adjustable rear sight, octagonal breech marked 'M', 'V' and 'O' all with Swiss cross, and serial no. '182xxx'. Bolt action with working mechanics. Frame marked 'WAFFENFABRIK BERN' under the cross, model and coeval serial number. Smooth, wooden butt and fore-end, the butt side with stamp '6' and cross on the back. The butt plate with signs of use. Iron mounts. Trigger guard with finger support. length 131,7 cm.
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Saxony, Heavy, octagonal, rifled, 8 mm cal. barrel, signed 'O. REIFGERST IN SALZWEDEL', the base engraved and with mark of London test bench, adjustable rear sight; large and long engraved tang; back spring lock finely engraved with foliage. Half wooden stock with checkered backstrap, horn fore-end cap and trigger guard. Patchbox, buttons inside (to fasten a strap?). The butt on the left side finely carved with a deer in the woods. Cow-horn butt-plate. Set trigger. Iron ramrod. length 123 cm.
