This is a wonderful handmade embroidered Sitar. Hours of work by several skilled artists made this likeness to the Curtain of the Chamber of Felicity. The original of which is hanging in the Medeniyetleri Islam Muzesi in Istanbul. As is shown in the fourth photograph of this lot. This sitar has a warm green base colour and is embroidered with gold coloured copper thread. The calligraphy on the top says:. May peace and blessings be upon you, o Imam of the pious (al-salato wa as-salamo alaika ya imamo al-motaquin). Underneath there are two cartouches with the testimony (shahadda) 'There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God. Period: 21th century Dimensions: 180 by 265 cm. 17 kg.
