AN IMPORTANT GEORGIAN PRESENTATION MAMELUKE OF CHARLES WILLIAM VANE-STEWART, 80.5cm sharply curved trophy kilij blade with gold koftgari signature panels and highlights, gilt hilt, the crossguard with cross-hatch decoration and chiselled with scrolling foliage and flowerheads, the backstrap chased and decorated with geometric designs, rose head riveted mother-o'-pearl grips, chain guard mounts, contained in its copper gilt mounted leather wrapped wooden scabbard, decorated with geometric designs and scrolling foliage, further applied with a presentation plaque, Presented by C. W. Vane Marquis of Londonderry GCB GCH BE GRS STGeo TO His Nephew Captn D. Wood RA ANNO 1847. Charles William Vane, 3rd Marquess of Londonderry first saw active service in the French Revolutionary wars as a young Lieutenant in 1794. He further served with distinction in the Peninsular Wars as a Cavalry Commander during the Corunna campaign with Paget and later as Wellington's Adjutant took part in the Battle of Talavera. Vane is famously depicted in a Portrait, now in the National Portrait Gallery and shown here, in which this Mameluke is slung over his shoulder. Three rivets lacking from one side of the grip, which is also cracked.

AN EARLY TO MID TWENTIETH CENTURY THREE STONE DIAMOND RING, centring on an early brilliant cut diamond, estimated weight 1.20ct, colour assessed as M - N, clarity assessed as I1, two trap cut diamonds, please note one is cracked in half, estimated weight 0.15ct each, ring size O, stamped '18ct PLAT', approximate gross weight 5.3 grams (condition report: AF one trap cut diamond broken, otherwise this ring is in good condition all claws and settings appear to be secure, some minor discolouration in keeping with age and general wear.

Rudelsheim, Wolverhampton, 42801, and a silver watch chainCondition report: The watch currently winds and ticks but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of its time keeping.Watch chain- weighs 1.66oz. Both the clasp and T-bar hallmarked with the England lion and date letter O, makers mark B&B. Each link is also stamped with the England lion. One link in the chain is a replacement and different shape (see additional image). The links connecting the chain to the T-bar are also replacements and some have splits to them. The clasp shuts securely.

Very good condition commensurate with age. No chips or scratches to the stones, no obvious inclusions and the diamonds are all well matched stones and of good colour and clarity. Setting and shank in good condition.
