Er nahm an der Pariser Weltausstellung teil und beschickte Ausstellungen in Berlin und Malmö. Reuß ältere Linie war ein Kleinstaat im Osten des heutigen Landes Thüringen, das nach 1918 zunächst Freistaat, 1920 im Land Thüringen aufging.

Lwd. min. besch., ger. 61,5 x 77 cm.- Ohler ist vor allem als Worpwsweder Keramiker bekannt. Bevor er nach dem 1. Weltkrieg das Töpferhandwerk erlernte und sich als enger Wegbegleiter Bernhard Hoetgers als Keramiker ebtablierte, besuchte er in Hanau die Zeichenakademie, studierte Malerei, Bildhauerei und Architektur in Berlin. Seine Malerei zeichnet sich vor 1925 durch deutlich Anklänge an den Expressionismus aus, um später einer formalen und farbigen Zurückhaltung bis hin zur Gegenständlichkeit der Neuen Sachlichkeit zu weichen.

Hornby, Meccano - A boxed Hornby O Gauge clockwork #101 Tank Passenger Set in Southern Railways livery. The set comprises a 0-2-0 tank locomotive Op.No.E126 with two tinplate first / third coaches plus a brake coach. The set also contains six curved sections of track with clips, plus its original key. The set appears to be in Excellent - Near Mint condition and overall gives the impression that it has hardly been used - the wear that appears on it could simply be due to age. The set fits tight in its original box within original cardboard insert. The inner box appears to be in Excellent condition and the inner section containing the loco has a small tear to the lower tray. The blue lift off lid box appears to be in Very Good Plus - Excellent condition with bright illustrated label, the correct SR colour spot on one side with original slightly worn and torn Hornby label. O. Springfield, The Palace, Khartoum, Sudan" to front pastedown, original printed boards, slightly rubbed and soiled, folio, [1930].⁂ An excellent album of photographs, stamps, letters and other ephemera covering the coronation of Haile Selassie I.The album was compiled by an E. O. Springfield and includes his 11-page typed account of the ceremony. Of particular note amongst the ephemera is Springfield's seat ticket for the coronation, and a manuscript letter in Amharic from the British Minster to the Empire of Ethiopia, Sir Sidney Barton, requesting safe passage for Springfield, translated as, 'Let the bearer (Mr. E.O. Describing life on board, "Blacks and greatest part of the Women and Men was Entirely naked except a small rug or cloth... Living... [on] Goats milk and Indian Corn... I have seen them eat Stinking Meat... ." He digresses with the story of an old school girl friend from Manchester, "One night... with a Gentleman... I was so unfortunate as to take from him in jest his pocket book... he ordered me to be sent to prison, and on being Tryed... sentenced Seven Years Transportation... I was put on Board a Ship... we set Sail for Bottony Bay but was Drove upon a Rock... near Folks Town where all... on Board Perished... Except myself and 3 More... ." The regiment sails to South America, landing at Buenos Aires, and the assault, "... at three O Clock in the Morning we was to assemble for the purpose of Storming the town at Day Break with small arms... . We entered the town... meeting with very little Oposition... we was attacked with a Very hot fire... we Suffered with Great loss of Men... we Came to the Grand Cathedral, where we took our Post... with Moment Expectations Of Being Suported with Genl. Whitelock and his Grand Army but he never Came... which Occasioned us to surrender having lost nearly 300 Men Killed and Wounded... ."

An Apology for Mrs. Eugenia Stanhope, editor of the Earl of Chesterfield's Letters to Philip Stanhope Esq...By an Amateur du Bon Ton, only edition, lacking half-title, first few leaves mounted on stubs, title soiled, modern blind-panelled calf, [Gulick 162], for T.Evans...and T.Cadell, [1775] § Stanhope (Philip Dormer, 4th Earl of Chesterfield) Supplement to the Letters written...to his Son, half-title, contemporary calf, rebacked preserving old spine, red roan label, for J.Dodsley, 1787,12mo & 8vo (2)⁂ The first item, an Italian edition of the second, was written by Halifax for his daughter Elizabeth, later the mother of the 4th Earl of Chesterfield. He was the recipient of over 400 letters from his father which were edited and published by his widow, Eugenia Stanhope after both father and son had died. The supplement to the letters is one of 4 editions published in the same year, this one being one of only 3 UK copies listed by ESTC with 6 more in America.
