A large Royal Vienna oval dish or platterlate 19th centurypainted with Bacchus and Ariadne on the Island of Naxos after Antoine Coypel (French, 1661-1722), within a raised gilt border of stylised urns and flowers with greek-key outer border, titled to verso 'L'Hymen de Bachus et d'Ariadne', painted beehive mark in underglaze blue, impressed '800',54cm wide and 40cm high (stapled crack). Sold together with ebonised wooden stand.Stapled crack at 10 o clock with small associated chip. Otherwise, condition is good. Both the gilding and the central decoration remain in good order with no discernible rubbing or scratches. Despite the stapled repair, it still displays nicely from the front.

A fine French onyx and champleve enamel longcase clock, late 19th century, of typical form, the rectangular top with champlevé-decorated drop-finials, over a square clockcase with ormolu corner beading, and a pair of champlevé-mounted columns flanking a sunburst pendulum, on a rectangular plinth base, the enamel dial with Arabic numerals to an enamelled chapter ring around a champleve star motif, the eight-day movement striking on a coil gong, 37cm wide x 31cm deep x 127cm high.Footnote: An identical clock was sold at Chrsitie's New York rooms, 21 October 2008, lot 321 and another example at A.B.Levy's Palm Beach Florida rooms, 5 May 2013, lot 278.Good overall with only minor/negligible signs of age and use.  Movement winds, runs and strikes.
