A diamond crossover ring, the two old Eurpoean cut diamonds weighing approx. 0.30 carats each, colour F/G, clarity SI1-2, diamond set shoulders, band indistinctly marked '18ct', gross wt. 2.7g, size O. Condition - sold without certificate, grading our opinion only, one stone with slight chip to girdle, otherwise ok, general wear to band, marks indistinctly, possible due to re-sizing.

Eine Sammlung Bleiamulette. Kleinasien, Ende 7. / 6. Jh. v. Chr. a) Großes Medaillon (52,13g H mit Henkel 6,4cm) mit einer rechtshin auf einem Löwen stehenden Figur. Davor eine n. l. stehende Gestalt mit einem pinienzapfenartigen Thymiaterion. b) Ähnlich aber Motiv seitenverkehrt (19,4g, H mit Henkel 5cm). c) ebenso, aber im Abschnitt Rautenmotiv (12,5g, H mit Henkel 4,3cm). d) Kleines Amulett (3,77g H 2,3cm) mit nach rechts schreitender Person auf einer Seite und einer Palmette auf der anderen. 4 Stück! a und c publiziert 1992! Mit Sonderdruck von O. Brehm! Bleipatina, teils mit Ausbrüchen. Provenienz: Aus der Sammlung H. I., Westfalen, seit vor 1986. Diese interessanten Stücke stehen ikonographisch offenbar unter orientalischem, insbesondere urartäischem Einfluss, stammen aber wohl aus dem ostgriechischen Kulturraum. Lit.: O. Brehm. Silberschale mit Inschrift. Hellenistisch, 3. - 1. Jh. v.Chr. H 8,5cm, ø oben 15cm. Aus getriebenem Silber. Mastoide Schale mit griechischer Inschrift außen am Rand: ΠΟΛΥΝΙΚΗΣ N C K O ΑΓΘΛΙΤΚΝ [...]. Inschrift graviert oder gestichelt. Innen abgesetzte, verdickte Randleiste. Mit mehreren Dellen, Reste von Sinter, mehrere Risse in der Wandung, z.T. repariert. Provenienz: Ex Sammlung G., Frankreich, 1990 - 2010, erworben bei Pierre Bergé, Paris, Auktion 07.02.2008, Los 387.
Große Bronzefigur des Horus von Pe. Spätzeit, 25. - 26. Dynastie, ca. 8. - 4. Jh. v.Chr. Bronze, H 22,5cm. Auf einer rechteckigen Plinthe sitzt auf einem Thron mit leicht hochgezogener Lehne eine menschliche, männliche Gestalt mit einem Löwenkopf. Er trägt nur einen kurzen Rock. Eine Perücke bedeckt die Mähne und die Schultern, auf dem Kopf sitzt eine ausladende HemHem-Krone. Diese besteht aus einem Kalathos, aus dem zwei waagrechte Widderhörner wachsen. Auf den Widderhörnern befindet sich eine Sonderform der Atef-Krone, deren Mittelstück verdreifacht wird und von zwei Uräusschlangen gerahmt ist. Vor dem Kalathos eine weitere sich aufrichtenden Uräusschlange. Die Hände, von denen eine waagerecht, eine senkrecht gehalten ist, trugen ehemals Attribute. Die Seiten des Thrones zieren verschiedene Motive in Ritztechnik, darunter das Sema-Tawy-Symbol, das die Vereinigung von Ober- und Unterägypten darstellt. Schöne grüne und rotbraune Patina, intakt. Provenienz: Aus Schweizer Privatsammlung, Zürich, gesammelt in den 1930er Jahren. Die meisten löwenköpfigen Götterbilder Ägyptens stellen weibliche Gottheiten dar, etwa Sachmet oder Wadjet. Löwenköpfige Männer sind dagegen die Ausnahmen. Einige Stücke hat Jacques Vandier 1967 zusammengestellt und belegt, dass es sich - zumindest teilweise - um eine Darstellung des Horus aus Pe (Bouto) handelt. (s.u.). Roeder erwähnt ein Exemplar mit einem Gebet an Horus, den Sohn der Wadjet. As the son of a stone mason and as a trained architect himself, Piranesi was in an excellent position to appreciate and convey the majesty of these columns.These two imposing plates were produced for the series Trofeo o sia Magnifica Colonna Coclide, depicting the colossal relief columns of Rome: the columns of Trajan, Antonine (of Marcus Aurelius) and Antoninus and Faustina.Trajan's Column is the last remaining intact monument in the Trajan Forum in Rome, completed in 113 AD. It is celebrated for its spiral bas-relief sculptures which commemorate the emperor's victory in the Dacian Wars (Romania). After his death, Trajan's ashes were interred in the pedestal. There was originally a statue of Trajan on top but this was replaced by a statue of St Peter.The Antonine Column was commissioned by Marcus Aurelius's son Commodus to commemorate his father's triumph over the Germanic Marcomanni tribe in 176 AD and has a similar bas-relief decoration.
