GREINER, OTTO1869 Leipzig - 1916 MünchenTitel: Aktstudie eines Knaben von hinten sowie Handstudien. Datierung: 1892. Technik: Schwarze Kreide, weiß gehöht auf Papier. Montierung: Oben mit Selbstklebestreifen montiert. Maße: 60 x 45,5cm. Bezeichnung: Bezeichnet, betitelt, datiert und signiert unten rechts: "Skizze zu einem Titelblatt "Steinzeichnungen von O. Greiner" Rom 1892". Rahmen: Passepartout. Provenienz:Privatbesitz, Deutschland.Ein außerordentliches zeichnerisches Talent bestätigte dem jungen Greiner Adolph von Menzel schon 1890, als dieser sich gerade in München mitten in seinem Akademiestudium befand. Als Sohn eines Lithographen kam Greiner zur Malerei, dennoch sieht man seinem Werk diese ersten Erfahrungen besonders an. In seinen Werken ist der Symbolismus seines Freundes und Förderers Max Klinger deutlich zu erkennen; Greiner verbindet und erweitert ihn zu lithografischen Zyklen, die er, seit 1892 in Rom ansässig, dort fertigt. Grundlage für alle Gemälde und Druckgraphiken waren seine Entwurfsstudien und Skizzen, die seine ausgefeilte Technik und seine außerordentliche Auffassungsgabe dokumentieren.
