A Victorian 15ct gold, ruby and diamond ring, 1867, set with three graduated rectangular-cut rubies spaced by pairs of rose-cut diamonds, with scroll decoration and foliate engraving throughout, the under-bezel inscribed ‘TO W FROM MH’, the inner band engraved ‘Aged 89 A.D 1867’, Birmingham hallmark for 1867, ring size O. £300-£500 --- Condition Report General light surface wear to the mount and settings commensurate with age and use. The rubies are medium purple-pink hue, with some minor wear to the facet edges observed under 10x magnification. Gross weight 2.2gm.
A diamond and enamel panel ring, set throughout with circular-cut diamonds, the pierced panel revealing a blue enamel ground, to a scrollwork gallery and trifurcated shoulders, total diamond weight approximately 1.00 carat, ring size O. £600-£800 --- Condition Report General surface wear to the mount and settings commensurate with use. The enamel plague/under-bezel is fitted by screws which are visible through the pierced panel, and have some slight enamel loss around the screw fitting. The principal brilliant-cut diamond has at least two small nicks to the girdle, observed under 10x magnification, and will need the claws re-tipping to be worn with confidence, the stone being loose in its setting. Gross weight 12.2gm.

Patrick Procktor RA RWS, British 1936-2003 - Demeter, 1977; watercolour on paper, signed and dated lower right 'Patrick Procktor 77' and titled lower left 'Demeter', 39.6 x 29.5 cm (ARR) Provenance: with Redfern Gallery, London (according to the inscribed label attached to the reverse); private collection Note: Patrick Procktor was one of the most important British artists of the late 20th century, celebrated alongside his friends Keith Vaughan and David Hockney. Known for his natural and colourful figurative style, his watercolours encapsulate his talent and wit. An intrepid traveller, his works were often inspired by the colours and sounds remembered from his trips to Greece, India and Morocco. His work has been regularly exhibited at the Redfern Gallery, alongside a touring museum show in 1985 that began at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. He was more recently the subject of an acclaimed retrospective at Huddersfield Art Gallery in 2012. His work is in collections across the world including British Museum, London; Los Angeles County Museum, Museum of Modern Art, New York and Museo de Arte São Paulo, Brazil.
