Sir Peter Markham Scott (British, 1909-1989):Geese in flight over marshes, oil on canvas, signed lower right & dated 1935, H 49 x W 74 cm. Provenance: Label verso for Arthur Ackermann & Son. Note: The present picture is a significant early example of the work of the artist who held his first exhibition in London in 1933. A year after its execution, the multi-talented Scott was to represent Great Britain at sailing in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in the O-Jolle dinghy class.
