Anne Spalding, a framed Oil Painting on canvas, a landscape depicting a broad valley in mixed farming viewed from an elevated position with Thorn trees in bloom and with distant mountains in shadow beneath a stormy sky. Signed lower left and dated " '63". 27" x 33" approx. This well-executed painting is of uncommonly large size in comparison with other works by the this highly talented artist, who died in 2013 at the great age of 101 years. A label verso states: "Miss Anne Spalding, C/o Rowley Gallery. 87, Campden Street, W8, subject: Winster Valley, Price : 100 guineas". A printed collection label numbered "216" is also to be found verso.
