A 1962 Triumph TR4, registration number 64 XPH, chassis number CT/6366-O, engine number CT/6462E, red. New for 1961 the TR4 has a modern Michelotti styled body, mounted on the previous TR chassis and running gear. They proved very popular, with over 40,000 being manufactured over a four year production run. This early original right hand drive overdrive example was originally supplied to the first owner, Lankester Engineering Company Limited, Kingston-upon-Thames. Previously restored prior to the vendor purchasing the Triumph, it has subsequently been maintained to a high standard. Finished in bright red with a contrasting black interior it has been uprated including a non standard wooden dashboard, 48 spoke wire wheels, engine sump guard, high torque starter motor, a brake servo, stainless steel exhaust, under wing liners, electronic ignition, high compression cylinder head and an alternator conversion. Further accessories include a full tonneau and hood. The TR is offered for auction with a comprehensive history file with receipts, including an engine rebuild and maintenance for £8,000, past MOTs, heritage certificate and sundry paperwork.
