A BOER WAR POW CAMP IN INDIA CARVED STICK. The officer presented with the carved hardwood stick, Captain B D Broughton a descendant of William the Conqueror. Inset into the stick is Captain B D Broughton, P O W Camp:Bellary:India. Made by W C Stevens, Krijscevangene 12 July 1902. The inset lettering is on each of four sides, above the ornately twisted stem above a damaged tip. 34" overall length, with a four sided pommel. Captain later Mjr B D Broughton served in the Indian Army, promoted Captain 16/8/1910. A Double Company Commander in 1914, serving then in the 13th Rajputs (Sherhawati) Regiment. The son of the 9th Baron Sir Henry Delves Broughton. A relative Sir Hy J Delves Broughton was charged with the murder of his wife's lover, Josslyn Hay the 22nd Earl of Erroll. The basis for the film White Mischief in Happy Valley Kenya.

Thomas Ronald Charles Stanton of the Hampshire Regt served from September 1918. He was promoted to Lt, before the war ended. Address for his Medals was C/O Barclays Bank , 41 Lowther road, Bournemouth.

Lt 15/3/1950 Capt 5/3/1955 Major 5/3/1962 Shown as still serving in 1972. The Medals are mounted for wear and have a matching miniature group, also mounted for wear.

A cased silver medallion of 38mm with coat of arms, the legend reads Por la Razon O la Fuerza on the obverse. Contitucion Politica La Republica de Chile Promulcada El 18 de Setiembre De 1925. A silver coloured medallion of 58mm diameter, with bust obverse and legend in Spanish. 'Chiloe Incorprada al Territorio De La Republic 22 Enero 1826. ano Freire 1926. The reverse has a Conquistadore , with the legend. 'Aqui Llego Donde Otro No Ha Llegado Don Alonso D'Ercilla 28 Febrero 1558.

Robert Roughsedge served with the 8th Battalion KOSB in France from the 10th July 1915. The medal envelopes are addressed to Mr R Roughsedge, 5 Egerton Grove, Stratford Road, Hulme, Manchester. He was awarded a Silver War Badge List D/85 and discharged from service, under order (392) 28th April 1916.

A Kings South Africa Medal with bars South Africa 1901 & S Africa 1902, named to 3469 Pte O Cowan S. Lanc. Regt. A 1914 Star and Bar, named to 3031 Pte O Cowan 2/ S:Lanc:R. British War & VIctory Medals, named to 3031 Pte O Cowan S.Lan.R. Oswald Cowan was wounded in the Boer War at Pieters Hill on the 27th February 1900. He later served with his Regiment after he recovered from his wound, returning home to 50 Tweed St, West Derby Rd, Liverpool. He rejoined his Regiment as 3031 attesting at Liverpool, in September 1914, His profession given as Policeman. He served in France from October 1914, He transferred to the Military Police in February 1917. His address upon returning to Civilian Life, is the same as above and latterly 04/10/1938. (MIC) details He is also entitled to a Silver War Badge under List MPC/83. He appears to have been invalided out in 1918, rejoining the Chief Constable Liverpool Police. It would seem he was wounded in both wars, during his services.

He appears to have Died of Wounds on Malta. His details are 11 CSM A W Ransom 1st/1st Kent Field Coy. Aged 33 Date of Death 10/11/1915. Buried in Pieta Military Cemetery The son of James and Ellen Ransom, late of Tonbridge Kent. Husband of Louisa Ransom of 107 St Marys Road, Tonbridge, Kent. A note on Forces War Records states 'Kent Fortress (T.F) Royal Engineers. An enclosed official? note states rank when entering a Theatre of War is on the Star. A second is with the War & Victory medals stating highest permanent rank achieved by 11/11/1918, is on these medals. The Hospital treated Gallipoli and Balkans Casualties, later Submarine attacks on shipping, etc

Died of Wounds 25/06/1917. Buried in Plot 3 Row E Grave 19. Ferme-Olivier Cemetery Belgium. The son of John and Elizabeth Higgins of 2 Longbridge, Shepton Mallet. William Higgins served in Theatre 5a (Asia) from the 14th August 1915. A note on his MIC states Died of Disease 15th November 1916. CWGC states 15/11/1916 aged 24. Number 200076 commemorated on the Basra Memorial. Serving in the 1st/4th Somerset Light Infantry. The son of the Late John and Elizabeth Higgins. An Evercreech Somerset Peace Scroll July 1919 named to G Higgins. A mother from Somerset, who lost two sons and her husband in a short time. See Illustration

LAURENCE STEPHEN LOWRY (1887-1976); a signed limited edition coloured print "Berwick-upon-Tweed", signed in pencil lower right, bearing blind stamp and letter to number stamp 584 lower left, published by the Medici Society 1973, 53 x 43cm, unframed. This print was purchased by the vendor's father in late November 1973 and has never been framed or exposed to light. It is presented with a mount and the original brown paper which has covered it since its purchase, along with the footnote of purchase price of £40 + VAT. (D) CONDITION REPORT: As this has been wrapped in original paper, not framed or exposed to light, it is presented in excellent condition, the colours are remarkable, no foxing, no staining. The left hand edge of the paper has old cellotape along most of it. There is approx 3cm of clear paper between the cellotape and the edge of the image. There is a smudge in the printed "Berwick-upon-Tweed by LS Lowry RA reproduced by permission of Ronald Lyn Esq." at the very bottom of the paper from the "o" of "of" to "n" of "Ronald". There is a tiny mark to the edge of the paper approx 3cm up from the bottom right hand corner. The image is in excellent condition. No marks or scratches. As new. The left-hand drive example on offer was imported from St Louis, Missouri in 2007 with its first UK keeper being Motorbike racer Eddie Roberts. Purchased by the current vendor in 2010 this impressive T-Bird is equipped with the optional 312ci (5.1-litre) V8 engine driving through 'Ford-O-Matic' automatic transmission and is offered with both hard and soft-tops, power steering, power brakes and is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system. Included in the sale are parts books, collection of old MOT's and as a Multiple 'Best in Show' winner a collection of trophies are also included. Well known in show circles the notable achievements have been car of the year in the 2010 classic America event and also competed for the car of the year at the NEC classic car show in November 2010.
