WW2 Royal Air Force “Special Duties” Officers Greatcoat, this being a standard blue wool greatcoat but the brass buttons were replaced with leather football buttons and the waist belt has a leather buckle. These coats were only worn by officers service with the Special Duties branch of the RAF. Interior lining with tailors label having inked details of the original owner, “P/O G F MASON” and clear date 1943.

A unique collection of eleven folio albums of family photographs and other memorabilia, including photos and copy photos of Brian as a young man [Album 1], Brian's card as Private Secretary to An Tanaiste, his personal card as 'Lord Nolan of Santry' etc. [green file, Section 12]; typescript copies of letters from Brian to the American writer William Saroyan, a tribute from Roibeard O Farachain (typescript), his brother Ciaran's passport, several albums of photos and other items relating mainly to his mother's family the Gormleys of Strabane, including material relating to Eugene Gormley (interned on SS Argenta in Belfast Lough 1922), a manuscript card from Alice Milligan, also some attractive family photographs,an album of Strabane postcards, views of Strabane, a Strabane scrapbook, etc., all carefully mounted and generally in excellent condition. As an Archive, w.a.f. (1)A unique collection which casts light on Brian O'Nolan's family background, and on some of the influences that helped to make him a writer.

A 19th century miniature portrait on ivory, possibly depicting Marie Antoinette, in half length seated pose wearing rich court dress with lace and gold braids, and a gold coronet with pearl adornments, bears signature lower right, in a gilt brass and ivory inset frame with pierced filigree border set with simulated pearls, the back of the frame with glazed panel revealing an inset brass monogram 'H O' or 'O H' to the brown velvet back, and an easel stand, 13.5 by 9.5cm, frame overall 19 by 15cm.

A Continental Silver, Enamel and Onyx Desk Timepiece, English import marks for Mappin & Webb, London 1911, the domed case decorated with roses and blue flowers on a guilloche ground, the white enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals, 9cm diameter Marked to underside and part marked to hinged door. Some nicks to the edge of the onyx base and a flat chip to the enamel next to rim of dial at 7-8 'o' clock. Movement appears to wind correctly. One nut fixing on onyx base marked as silver, another a replacement and one lacking.
An 18 Carat Gold Star Sapphire and Diamond Three Stone Ring, an oval cut star sapphire spaced by round brilliant cut diamonds, to tapering shoulders, total estimated diamond weight 0.30 carat approximately, finger size O see illustration . The ring is in good condition. It is hallmarked with sponsor's mark 'HM', Birmingham, no date. The star sapphire measures 6.5mm x 5.5mm x 4mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour G/H, clarity VS1/VS2. Gross weight 3.0 grams. Condition Report made 26th October 2018.
An 18 Carat Gold Diamond Ring, a pavé set diamond marquise-shaped plaque to a broad yellow gold shank, stated total diamond weight 0.69 carat, finger size O see illustration . The ring is in good condition. It is hallmarked with sponsor's mark 'GS', London, no date. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour G/H, clarity VS1/VS2. Gross weight 9.9 grams. Condition Report made 23rd October 2018.
A Pink Sapphire and Diamond Hoop Ring, bands of alternating pavé set round cut pink sapphires and round brilliant cut diamonds to a panelled shank, stated diamond weight 0.79 carat, stated sapphire weight 1.75 carat, finger size O see illustration. The ring is in good condition. It is stamped '750', valued as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour G/H, clarity VS1/VS2. Gross weight 12.8 grams.
