A GOOD JAPANESE ARMOUR- A Japanese orange laced o-yoroi or great armour in the 15th Century style, comprising, kabuto with twenty three exposed lames rising to a multi-tiered and foliate edged gilt kikuza, the remaining lames seated beneath the lacquered front, this in turn mounted with a gilt finished maedate, the ornate and exaggerated fukigayashi applied with gilt butterflys, further fitted with a cloth, gilt and lacquer trimmed mabizashi, well-shaped and laced shikoro of four lames, the interior believed signed and trimmed in silks and lacquer, finely detailed mempo with red lacquer lining and badger hair moustache, yodarekake of eight lacquered ridged lames, broad ko-sode of ten ridged gilt lames with upper foliate panel, kote of silk and cloth lined mail with gilt lacquered iron plates and hand defences, the do composed of ridged gilt lacquered plates and three broader gilt lobed plates transitioning into the kusazuri composed of nine gilt ridged lames, haidate composed of multiple interlaced hammered gilt plates, the padded lining over all finished in blue silks decorated with flower head and foliage, further trimmed throughout with orange lace-work and orange cords and tassels, complete with stand and lacquered box with gilt lacquered circular mon with central cross.
