An 18 carat two colour gold diamond solitaire ring, a round brilliant cut diamond in a white claw setting to a yellow tapering mount, estimated diamond weight 1.35 carat approximately, finger size O The ring is in good condition. It is hallmarked with sponsor's mark 'MJ', London. The diamond measures 6.90mm x 6.90mm x 4.49mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamond are; colour J/K, clarity SI1/SI2. Gross weight 7.0 grams. The ring was valued for insurance at £7000 NRV in 2010. Condition Report made 21st August 2017.
A 9 carat gold enamel nautical flag brooch, by Benzie of Cowes, depicting signalling flags to a mast to spell 'MOIRA', measures 4.8cm by 1.3cm The brooch is in good to fair condition. There is some light wear to the enamel and a fault to the enamel on the 'O' flag. It is hallmarked with sponsor's mark 'BBS' for Benzie and Cowes, London, 1978. It fastens with a pin and safety catch. Gross weight 5.4 grams. Condition Report made 21st June 2017.
BENFICA - TOTTENHAM 61-62 Scarce issue of Benfica newspaper magazine "O Benfica" dated 23/3/62. Benfica won the European Cup Semi-Final first leg 3-1 on March 21st 1962 and this 16 page issue has pictures of both teams on the front cover, the headline "Passaporte em Londres". The large format centre pages have reports, line-ups, pictures of the game etc for which no programme was issued. Other pages have further pictures and editorial. Charles Brooking (British, 1723-1759), English Man 'o' War Shortening Sails, probably in The Solent oil on canvas, signed 'C. Brooking' lower margin, in original giltwood cavetto frame, The City Art Gallery, Bristol label verso from 1966 exhibition 10¾ x 14½in. (27.25 x 37.75cm.)* Provenance: No.21 in the 'Charles Brooking, 1723-1759: Paintings, drawings and engravings. An exhibition arranged by the Paul Mellon Foundation for British Art in ... the Bristol City Art Gallery, 1-30 July 1966'. Purchased by the vendor's late husband from the well known collector and historian of early maritime painting, Frank Cockett in 1983, with original and copy correspondence relating to the purchase.** Condition: Examined under UV - no retouching or restoration visible (please see photos taken under UV). Was cleaned and revarnished in 1988 by a professional restorer in Jersey (see photo of paperwork). Not relined - canvas remains even and tautly stretched. Some craquelure visible, mainly to centre area of canvas, including two 'bullseye' patches of craquelure above left hand boat. Paint is stable. Small touch marks to varnish to very lower margin from slip. Original frame has some small losses and retouching throughout.

Graves Art Dealers, 205 Dundas St., London** Condition: In 1920s-30s gilt frame with glazing and foliate moulded corners - painted gold with water gilded outside edge - has not been removed from frame since that time as back paper (although torn) is undisturbed. Original canvas - not relined. Some light craquelure visible throughout - surface appears stable. Stretcher line visible to top and left side. Tiny nick to surface of canvas showing white beneath to top right corner. Examined under UV - patch of retouching visible to right hand margin, just above wooden posts - no other retouching or repainting visible. Would benefit from a light clean.
