This has a Latin R in the reverse legend instead of a Rho and the H of Himera was not used on ancient coins from Himera; possibly a later copy. Good very fine.

The countermarks were applied from March 1797. Coin and mark near extremely fine; some lustre. Scarce.
Dated 1813 AD or later. Insurgent coinage, under General Morelos, cast. Obv: bow and arrow with SUD below. Rev: Morelos monogram over o/M over date 3.57 grams.Ex Norweb collection (with envelope"). The insurgent coinages are catalogued for copper and silver issues, with a suggestion that some might be of later date; there appears to be no record of a gold issue and the Norweb envelope simply states 'pattern Mexico (1 real) 1813' although a denomination of 8 reales would seem more likely. Good very fine.

A hematite intaglio engraved with the standing figure of Osiris, facing forward, mummiform body and wearing an Atef crown; engraved to the reverse with sacred syllables A E H I O V W. 1.88 grams, 16mm (1/2"). Ex Gustave Mustaki collection; acquired from Egypt in 1948. Many of the Mustaki collection items are in famous collections and museums including The British Museum. Very fine condition.
