BILL WYMAN'S SILVER MERCEDES V126 500 SEL AUTO. This classic 80's Mercedes has been owned by the former founding member of The Rolling Stones since he purchased it in 1982. With 114,821 miles on the clock the car was serviced twice yearly up until 1995 when Bill placed her into storage. Comes complete with service book and manuals, blue leather interior, Motorola car phone, Sony CD Changer, Electric Windows and sunroof, MOT to 27th Sep 2018 and a full tank of petrol so ready to drive away! Thirty years ago fans were tearing bits o? the cars for souvenirs. Bill said ' When I parked the 500SEL in London, fans would steal my Mercedes logo from my bonnet .This happened a number of times and I was continually replacing it . ' So Bill had a special retractable Mercedes ‘Star” ?tted on the 500 SEL . In the same 500 SEL ,Bill out drove paparazzi who chased him from his house in Vence . ' Bill added ' i had a crazy chase and lost them on the motorway to Monte Carlo with the power of this car.' Bill says of the 500 when he first drove it “I was over the moon , it was a wonderful car to drive ,it almost drove itself." A fantastic looking car with one "rock star" owner since new! For more information on the car see the excellent article written by Richard Mason for Classic Car
