A silver-gilt ring comprising a square-section hoop with pierced shoulders, tapering hexagonal-section bezel with florid detailing, inset carnelian intaglio standing bird with neck arched. Cf. Candidates for Brooke's nunc est bibendum' (now there is drinking); horsemen leaping a wattle fence and gate (left)and a fenced copse (centre) while the hounds cast about for the secnt (right), title beneath '12. Gens humana ruit O' Crus O' Brachia! (A Check)' (the human race rushes forward 'Oh my legs, Oh my arms!); each with old printed label to the reverse 'Est.1887 Phone 25833 Leveton & Sons (Norwich) Limited, Fine Art Dealers 11, Orford Hill Norwich.
