Porcelain dial, chip at 4-o?clock, signed Minerva, with sub dial marking elapsed minutes, 1-5 on inner black track, 5-10 on outer red track. Starts and runs but stops at 6 seconds. GC

**AWAY LU 25.11.19***Merovingian, a continental silver denier dating c. AD 720-750, copying an anonymous Anglo-Saxon sceatta of the Secondary Phase series O/BMC type 38. Probably struck in Northern Francia or Frisia. Obverse: bird walking right within alternating triple border (pelleted/solid/pelleted), pellets above neck and in front of head. Reverse: Parisian 'cross ancrée', pellets interspersed between arms. Very Fine, some dark areas. Extremely rare, this example apparently a variant on a known type. Diameter: 13mm. Weight: 0.86g. Obverse: inscription 'OFFA REX' divided by two pelleted lines, cross before the 'O', 'M' above. Reverse: +MVNDEALH, moneyers name surrounding short 'celtic cross' with pellet at centre, the 'AL' inverted. About Fine, the reverse better. Three areas of minor flan loss and distortion. Diameter: 19mm. Weight: 1.11g. N328 (var) group III (large module types). Chick (2010) type 205-this piece representing new dies for the moneyer. Medieval, four shortcross cut halfpence of various monarchs: one probably John (class 5)- uncertain moneyer at the mint of London (+[....]ON.LV), the second also of John (class 5)- moneyer RENALD or RENAVD at the mint of Norwich (+REN[...]N.NOR), the third of Henry III (class 7)- mint and moneyer uncertain ([...]E[....]O), the last again of Henry III (class 7)-moneyer uncertain but of the Northampton mint ([....]NORHAM[...]). Provenance: from the collection of a metal detectorist.

Stamped 9K. Ring size O; together with a 9ct white gold and diamond ring, set with thirteen brilliant cut diamond highlights. Stamped 9K. Ring size O. Total weight 5.5gms.
A WWII RAF Lancaster Mid-Upper Gunner's Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) medal group of five consisting of DFC (1944), 1939-45 Air Crew Europe star with France and Germany clasp, 1939-45 star, Defence and War medals, together with related ephemera. Awarded to 1117079 (176494) F/O MATTHEW WYLLIE. His logbook details two tours with targets including Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Essen, Happy Valley, Nuremberg (Nurnberg), Operation Maisy D-Day, totalling approximately 40 combat missions. He was awarded the DFC "One night in June 1944, this officer was mid-upper gunner in an aircraft detailed to attack the railway sidings at Trappes. P/O Wyllie sighted an enemy fighter and so assisted his pilot and co-gunner that he shot it down" (shortened version). An entry on 2.6.44 denotes "OPS TRAPPES FIGHTER DESTROYED" and 5.6.44 "OPS MAISY D-DAY". The lot also includes his service and release book, crew photographs, side cap and battledress tunic with corresponding ribbons and AG wing badge, together with parachute bag.
