Der Verleger Antonio Lafreri und seine Druckgraphikproduktion, Berlin 2016, S.138, Kat. Nr. 2 I (von III). Wz. Anker im Kreis mit sechszackigem Stern darüber. Vorliegendes, seltenes Blatt wurde zusammen mit zwei anderen, stilistisch vergleichbaren Blättern (Adam und Eva mit dem Knaben Abel und Die Schindung des Marsyas) erstmals 1912 von Hermann Voss dem bolognesischen Kupferstecher und Goldschmied Girolamo Fagiuoli zugeordnet. Alle drei Blätter sind unsigniert und galten bis dahin gemeinhin als Arbeiten von der Hand Philippe de Soyes (nach Vorlagen Perino del Vagas), der ebenfalls für den Verleger Antonio Lafreri tätig war und dessen Adresse in späteren Druckzuständen auf den Blättern erscheint. Zu Girolamo Fagiuoli selbst sind nur äußerst wenige Details überliefert. Laut Vasari stach er neben Werken von Francesco Salviati unter anderem auch nach Entwürfen von Domenico Giuntalodi und Parmigianino und arbeitete zwischen 1538-1543 für den Verlag von Antonio Salamanca. Suzanne Boorsch schlug 1994 zudem eine Identifizierung Fagiuolis mit dem um die Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts tätigen Meister FG (bzw. GF) vor, von dem mehrere Kompositionen nach Entwürfen Francesco Primaticcios für das Château de Fontainebleau bekannt sind. - Ganz ausgezeichneter, prägnanter und feinzeichnender Abzug mit meist schmalem Rändchen um die Facette. Noch vor den späteren Adressen von Antonio Lafreri und Petro de Nobilibus. Minimal nur fleckig, verso schwache geglättete Mittelfalte sowie eine weitere sorgsam geglättete Knickspur, im weißen Rand rechts oben und unten kleine Fehlstellen bzw. schwache Läsuren, diese unten hinterfasert, winzige Nadellöchlein im Himmel, links dünne Stellen, weitere unauffällige Handhabungsspuren, sonst im Gesamteindruck in ganz vorzüglicher und originaler Erhaltung. Calvi, Jacopo Alessandro: Allegorie der Malerei Allegorie der Malerei: Putto als Genius malend vor der Staffelei. Feder in Braun, braun laviert, über Spuren von schwarzem Stift; verso: Fragmente einer Entwurfszeichnung. 7,8 x 9,5 cm. Der kleinwüchsige und seit seiner Kindheit taube Künstler erhielt den Beinamen "Il Sordino". Er arbeitete als Maler und Kupferstecher und schuf etwa elf Reproduktionen nach Gemälden des Klosters San Michele in Bosco bei Bologna. Zeichnungen von ihm befinden sich in Windsor Castle (O. Kurz: Bolognese drawings of the XVII and XVIII centuries, London 1955, Nrn. 21-26) und in der Sammlung Franz Freiherr von Koenig, Schloss Fachsenfeld (C.
