An emerald and diamond set dress ring, the central rectangular cut emerald measuring 6.8mm x 5.8mm x 3.8mm, with V splayed shoulders set with two baguette cut diamonds and four tiny diamonds to each side, white metal stamped platinum, ring size O, 3.5g all in, with original purchase receipt from Wine Gartens London for 1969.
An emerald and diamond cluster ring, the central stone weighing approx. 0.50 carats, surrounded by eight round brilliant cut diamonds weighing approx. 0.32 carats in total, the cluster measuring approx. 9.75mm x 9.83mm, hallmarked gold band, sponsors mark 'CLM', purity mark rubbed, Birmingham 1980, gross wt. 2.87g, size N/O. Condition - generally good, central stone with surface reaching fraction visible with 10x loupe only on upper 'kite' facet and girdle, emerald with various inclusions, diamonds sold without certificate however they're bright and lively, minor dark mineral inclusions visible with 10x loupe only, band very good, minor wear, no evidence of re-sizing.
A Yorkshire Pratt ware polychrome documentary money box or bank, mid 19th century, attributed to the Emery Pottery in Mexborough and probably modelled on the Wesley Methodist Chapel in the town, with figures standing at the front corners, raised on ball feet, named and dated "JOHN DOWNING THORNE Dec 23. 1845", applied owner's label verso, 26.5cm high (at fault) CONDITION REPORT:The piece is lacking its back left ball foot, and there is evidence of previous repair to the foot joint. The piece shows crazing in various areas, most noticeably on the white walls. The right hand chimney shows a chip to the corner and some flaked losses to the glazed finish. The back of the roof shows a flaked loss to the glazed finish and chips and nibbles to the back edge. The left hand wall shows two small glazing faults, and the right hand wall shows chips and nibbles to the back edge. The text shows a glazing fault between the O and H of JOHN, and another to the G of DOWNING. The three remaining feet show wear to the glazed finish.
