NORITAKE, ART DECO TEA-FOR-TWO SET, 1930-50 comprising a teapot, two cups and saucers (one spare saucer), sugar bowl and cream jug, each of conical form, with orange and black band decoration to cream ground, silvered borders, printed marks to baseteapot 12cm high (including lid)This lot shows no sign of repair, and no hairline cracks. There are no chips, but slight dulling of the glaze on the saucers, where the cups rest, likely from use and washing.

Noritake - Glenwood - An extensive late 20th century China tea and dinner service, pattern 5770, comprised of twelve cups, saucers, tea plates, plates, bowls, ten bowls with handles, meat plate, gravy boat, serving dish, coffee pot, cream jug, tureen, and more. Makers marks printed to the underside of the pieces.In 1904 the forerunner of the Noritake Company was established in the village of Noritake near Negoya in Japan. This Glenwood set was purchased by the Seller's parents in India in the 1950s when they worked for the Foreign Office to use for the purpose of entertaining.
