A reproduction Mattel hoverboard in the style of the original prop as seen used by Michael J. Fox as "Marty McFly" in Back To The Future Part II (Universal Pictures, 1989), signed by members of the cast. Resembling those used in the production of the film, this Mattel board is composed of a wooden deck that has been hand-painted in a vibrant hot pink, and features custom-made graphics adhered to both sides of the board. The graphics include the Mattel logo in two places, and alternating pink and green Velcro throughout a pink patterned background. A removable green disk designed for the user to mount their foot is adhered by Velcro both on the the disk and on the hoverboard's surface. The surface of this custom-made hoverboard is signed in black ink by Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and Thomas Wilson. As Marty runs away from Griff (Thomas F. Wilson) and his gang, Marty notices a young girl riding this type of hoverboard with handlebars. Marty takes the board from the girl and removes the pink handlebars, leaving a floating hot pink board. Marty learns how to control the hoverboard and is soon after chased by the gang into a small body of water, where he stops moving. As Griff and his gang approach Marty on their own hoverboards, Marty ducks and falls into the water, causing Griff and the others to fly out of the water and crash into a building.28.5 x 2 x 8 inches
A group of vintage Mattel toy props from the production of David Mickey Evans' sequel film, The Sandlot 2 (20th Century Fox, 2005) including a jerry-rigged Sooper Gooper with battery pack and additional unidentified toy parts. In the film, a group of friends must retrieve a model NASA space shuttle from Mr. Mertle's (James Earl Jones) backyard, which is guarded by "The Great Fear," a fierce and intimidating dog. They experiment with various methods of retrieving the shuttle that does not involve them going into the yard themselves, including sending a Sooper Gooper through the fence. Unfortunately, the dog destroys the toy and sends it hurtling back over the fence into the swimming pool. Ultimately the children encounter Mr. Mertle and learn that his dog (whose name is Goliath) is not as ferocious as they had believed. Taking place ten years after the original film, this sequel, like its predecessor, presents a nostalgic coming-of-age story replete with clothing, toys, and events from the late 1960s / early 1970s.Accompanied by a 20th Century Fox Certificate of Authenticity.20 x 18 x 15 inches (overall)
