A FINE QUALITY 13TH CENTURY KHMER STONE STELE OF AN APSARA, from Angkor Wat, carved in deep relief, the female spirit holding a garland in each hand, her face with a serene expression, the whole mounted on a display stand, 19.9in high overall, the stele itself 16.5in high x 12.25in wide x 2in deep. (this lot is accompanied by a letter confirming provenance of acquisition in the 1960’s in South East Asia by a Danish diplomat seconded to the UN as an economic advisor).

Pilot with Bomber Command 1941 to 1945 Nos 150 and 692 Squadrons. Shot down over Germany September 1942, Successfully evaded capture and returned to UK via Belgium, France, Spain and Gibraltar. A Hochst porcelain figure, of a fisherwoman (restored), 23 cm high Condition report Report by NG The fish she is holding has been broken off and repaired, there is a rod from the figure into the fish holding it in place, the fish is turning on this rod. Both thumbs have been repaired and glue visible on left hand thumb although this has now dried. Other fish in basket with restoration to tail. One quite large chip to front of woman's skirt. Some chips and losses to flowers and foliage. Gilt decoration rubbed. Base with blue six spoke wheel mark, stamped 90 and a S.
