A large mid 17th century oak six leg refectory table, the thick single plank top above a moulded frieze with scroll brackets, on turned baluster and disc supports united by peripheral stretchers, 79.5cm high, 392cm long, 83.5cm deep. Provenance: Leslie Gooday OBE. This refectory table was purchased by the architect Leslie Gooday OBE , in the early 1950's for 'Long Wall', the modernist home he designed for his family, where the table has remained until the present day. The photograph below shows the table at 'Long Wall' soon after it was built.
