Carta dirigida al General Tom¡s Cipriano Mosquera, que fue Presidente de Nueva Granada entre 1845 y 1849 y de los Estados Unidos de Colombia entre 1861 y 1864 y entre 1866 y 1867, la carta la firma Paula Luque, que fue su amante y con la que tuvo tres hijas. Marca POPAYAN / DE / OFICIO, en azul. MAGNIFICA E INTERESANTE.
1829. Frontal de Certificado (incluyendo parte posterior de la envuelta) de TRUJILLO a LIMA. Marcas TRUJILLO / FRANCA y CERTIFICADO, ambas en rojo y "Cruces de tinta" en las esquinas y al dorso "Recib" del destinatario, tal y como era preceptivo en el correo certificado (porte de 3 ½ reales para una distancia de 100 a 200 leguas, segºn tarifa de 1826, m¡s cuatro reales de derechos de certificado para un peso de hasta 1 onza). MAGNIFICO Y MUY RARO.
1864. 1 sh verde. MANCHESTER a SAN JUAN (PUERTO RICO). A la llegada se aplica un sello de Antillas de ½ real azul de 1857 (un margen justo sin importancia), para cubrir el porte espa±ol (adem¡s marca ½ en el frente). MAGNIFICA Y ESPECTACULAR, MUY RARO FRANQUEO MIXTO. Cert. B.P.A.
A George II mahogany side table, the moulded edge top above a wavy edge frieze and on shell and husk capped cabriole legs with ring ankles and claw and ball feet, 84cm high, Provenance: Bought by the vendor from a house sale held at Denbury Manor, Newton Abbott, Devon in the 1950's.
A George III silhouette of George Baillie Esq. by S Houghton, in a later frame, the back with remnants of the original paper label, 12.3 x 9.5cm, together with a silhouette portrait of a man in an ebonized frame and an 18th century wax bust of a lady. A large mid 17th century oak six leg refectory table, the thick single plank top above a moulded frieze with scroll brackets, on turned baluster and disc supports united by peripheral stretchers, 79.5cm high, 392cm long, 83.5cm deep. Provenance: Leslie Gooday OBE. This refectory table was purchased by the architect Leslie Gooday OBE , in the early 1950's for 'Long Wall', the modernist home he designed for his family, where the table has remained until the present day. The photograph below shows the table at 'Long Wall' soon after it was built.
