A Soviet porcelain plate from the `Rose and Carnation' service, State Porcelain Manufactory, dated 1922, the centre painted in black with a rose and carnation in a shallow bowl, after a design by S. Chekhonin, within a gilt band and moulded scroll border with pierced rim, blue factory mark with date 1922, green cypher for Nicholas II dated 1897. Illustrated.
