A modern hallmarked 9ct pendant modelled as a miniature anchor, the articulated pendant inscribed to the side R Sykes & Son Cradley Heath, the improved Britannic, weight 15.6g, Birmingham import marks for 1991, all in fitted case.Notes This example is after the brass model anchors thought to have been made as commercial traveller's samples. The anchor is a 'stockless type' designed for easy stowage in the hawser. The joint is a 'ball and socket' type, similar to the one used on the Baldt pattern anchor. It was first used on H M S Britannic in 1914, the sister ship of the Titanic, the famous White Star liner Britannic was built 1914.
