Provenance: by repute from the Henham House sale 1951 and believed to have been constructed from timber from the grounds of the Hall specifically for the visit of King Edward VII, however the coronet to the ornament is that of an Earl, and presumably the Earl of Stradbroke, so whilst the bed may have been used by King Edward VII, it may predate his visit.
